Rusal plans to double its Boguchansky smelter capacity by 2030

According to the Russian Krasnoyarsk government,Rusal plans to increase the capacity of its Boguchansky aluminum smelter in Siberia to 600,000 tonnes by 2030.

Boguchansky, The smelter’s first production line was launched in 2019, with an investment of us $1.6 billion.The initial estimated cost of segment capacity is $2.6 billion.

Rusal vice-president Elena Bezdenezhnykh said,Boguchansky Construction of the smelter plant will begin in 2025.A Rusal representative confirmed the plans, predicting a global aluminum surplus of about 500,000 tons in 2024 and 200,000 to 300,000 tons in 2025.
