A Energi signed an agreement to supply power to Hydro’s Norwegian aluminum plant for a long time

Hydro Energi Has signed a long-term power purchase agreement with A Energi. 438 GWh of electricity to Hydro annually from 2025, the total power supply is 4.38 TWh of power.

The agreement supports Hydro’s low-carbon aluminum production and helps it achieve its net zero 2050 emissions target. Norway relies on renewable energy for aluminum production and a carbon footprint that is about 75% below the global average.

The long-term contract will add to Hydro’s Nordic power portfolio, the portfolio includes an annual self-owned power production of 9.4 TWh and a long-term contract portfolio of approximately 10 TWh.

With several existing long-term power agreements due to expire at the end of 2030, Hydro actively seeking a range of available procurement options to meet its operational needs for renewable energy.
